18-Hole Championship Course "Surcouf"
Par 72, 6,101 m, Slope 140.
The Surcouf course has hosted the Saint Malo Golf Open Alps Tour (a professional tournament) since 2016. This course runs alongside and across the Mirloup pond.
Between bodies of water, granite outcrops, trees, and bunkers, the course winds its fairways through the Breton countryside, keeping you on your toes for 18 holes where the spirit of the corsairs lingers.
From spring onwards, our maintenance team ensures the course is kept to an exceptionally high standard:
- Greens mown daily
- Fairways mown three times a week
- Tees, pre-roughs, and approaches also mown 3 times a week

9-Hole "Old Course"
Par 36, 2,646 m, Slope 124.
Originally designed as an 18-hole course, the Old Course offers a great variety for all players, including beginners.
You will fall in love with its granite outcrops on holes 1, 2, and 6, its centuries-old oak trees, and the views of the Mireloup pond and the Mesnil Forest that frame the course.
Golf History
A golf course created in 1986 by Hubert Chesneau
Saint-Malo Golf Resort was born in 1986 from the imagination of Hubert Chesneau (who also designed Le Golf National, host of the French Open). He wanted a straightforward layout that offers both a great sporting challenge and a treat for the eyes.
Hubert Chesneau successfully blended the natural beauty of the site—its water features (Mireloup pond), granite outcrops, and trees—with a varied and sporty design across a 100-hectare estate.
In March 1989, an additional loop (current holes 7 through 15) opened, creating the new 18-hole course. Saint-Malo Golf Resort then became the largest golf course in Brittany. The clubhouse is a former 18th-century priory belonging to the Benedictine abbey of Le Tronchet, whose neoclassical architecture can be seen near hole no. 7. It was once a retreat frequented by monks who farmed the surrounding lands. These lands are the former hunting grounds of the famous corsair Surcouf, whose hunting lodge can be seen at hole no. 10.
In 1994, Serge Raulic, President of the Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo, golf enthusiast, and lover of the area, acquired the Saint-Malo golf course and gave it a new lease on life by carrying out drainage work and remodeling several holes to make it even more appealing.
To continue its development, a 3-star hotel was inaugurated in 2003 and upgraded to 4 stars in 2020. Integrating a new building into a structure made of old stone, like the former priory, was a real achievement.
After just 8 months of construction, 30 luxury rooms, a seminar pavilion, and a new dining room emerged, blending perfectly with the surrounding environment and the historic buildings.
